ESSENCE THERAPY with Gopal

I was always interested in bridging the teachings of Yoga and Meditation with modern theories of psychology. The years I spent as a monastic, combined with my study of Integral Psychology, enabled me to develop what I named 'Essence Therapy'.

 

 

It is a body-centered therapy that allows an individual to learn from and take advantage of their body type. This allows an individual to achieve optimum physical, energetic and mental health.

Essence Therapy utilizes Wilhelm Reich's (a student of Sigmund Freud) extensive research in body typing. He discovered that by analyzing the structure, posture and moment-to-moment changes in a person's physical body it revealed the individual's core belief system. Since these core beliefs act as the basic programing of our life he accurately concluded that it was important to be aware of the healthy as well as the unhealthy erroneous core beliefs (these are the ones that create the pain and suffering in our body and mind).

Essence therapy initially consists of four one-hour private sessions that are informative and offer the individual a personalized program that could include: exercise, Hatha Yoga, Pranayama (breath work), Meditation and a counseling program.

What are the components of the Essence Therapy program?

The main elements of the program are exercises that correct or alleviate most imbalances in the physical body. They may include yoga postures, isometric exercises, breathing and relaxation techniques, as well as meditation and diet analysis based on the energy present in food and its effect on the body and mind. Every program is personalized to meet the specific needs of the client.

What can essence Therapy do for me?

Essence Therapy is designed to empower you and help you gain mastery over your mind and body. The program designed for you will increase energy levels, enhance your present state of health and increase concentration and memory. You will learn how to reduce unhealthy levels of stress, thus enhancing the experience of fulfillment and satisfaction in your life. Essence Therapy sessions increase your ability to focus your mind and retain information.

What does Essence Therapy Include?

There are four sessions in a typical phase one Essence Therapy series. Each one reveals improtant information regarding how we organize our physical, energetic and mental bodies.

In the first session reviews all relevant information regarding goals, present and past health condition. A lifestyle and health questionnaire is presented.

The second session includes a comprehensive body analysis. Your body-style and body-type will be revealed to you at this time. The structure, posture, and health of your body once determined allows me to create a personal program tailored to your exact requirements. A diet-log is given to record your daily food intake for one week; it is due on the third session.  

The third session consists of handing in a diet log, reviewing the body analysis and receiving your personalized program. Between the third and fourth sessions you practice the program.

The fourth session completes ‘Phase One of Essence Therapy’. We review and make any necessary adjustments to your program. The remainder of the session includes a full energy-analysis of your diet (I am not a licensed dietitian). If necessary a future session is scheduled.
